America and Me is a series of prints on the colour plates from a book of Western paintings by Frank C. McCarthy. This book, found recently in a second hand bookshop, was a childhood favorite, and when opened the images unfurled a host of boyhood memories and sensation. The images for the mono-prints of this series comprise of culled newspaper images, which reference The United States and its histories as well as images from my own biography/history in the form of family snapshots. These two histories, both private and public are placed side by side in this series of prints.
